Oaks Honors Eva Rohring As New York’s Outstanding Participant In The Senior Community
Eva Rohring of Williamson was honored by Assemblyman Bob Oaks (R,C – Macedon) (left) and Chairman of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors, Jim Hoffman (right), at the New York State Fair on September 1, 2009 for being selected as New York State’s Outstanding Participant in the Senior Community Service Employment Program for 2009.
Ms. Rohring was selected for the honor by Experience Works, which operates the Senior Community Service Program throughout the country for the U.S. Department of Labor. Eva Rohring received training to re-enter the workforce and serves as data manager for the Wayne County Community Action Program (Wayne CAP) in Lyons.
Wayne County Board of Supervisor Chairman, Jim Hoffman, also serves as Ms. Rohring’s local Town Supervisor in Williamson and is a member of the Wayne CAP Board. The award was acknowledged by Assemblyman Oaks and Chairman Hoffman before several thousand people in the State Fair’s Chevrolet Court as they awaited the start of the Sha-Na-Na concert.
In addition to her statewide award, Ms. Rohring received a New York State legislative citation from Assemblyman Oaks and state Senator Mike Nozzolio, recognizing her award and work in Wayne CAP’s Weatherization program.
