Assemblyman Oaks Applauds Open AG Replacement Process

A Statement from Assemblyman Bob Oaks (R,C-Macedon)
May 23, 2018

The downfall and resignation of Eric Schneiderman left the legislature in the position of selecting his successor to fill out the term of New York State Attorney General ending on December 31, 2018. I am encouraged that this process was conducted in an open, bipartisan and transparent manner, and now allows the voters to have a true voice in who they select as the state’s next Attorney General this election day on November 6.

Congratulations to Interim Attorney General Barbara Underwood, the first female to serve in that role, who I cast my vote for at the joint session of the legislature Tuesday afternoon. I thank her for her dedicated and honorable decades of service thus far and wish her all of the best.
