On May 24th, New York State Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-14th AD) hosted a Mother's Day Luncheon at Hispanic Brotherhood of Rockville Centre with over 60 residents in attendance.

"Many South American countries celebrate Mother's Day in late May, so the timing of this luncheon could not have been better. The seniors had a wonderful time and enjoyed a delicious Mother's Day feast. A great time was had by all," said Curran.

The luncheon Curran sponsored featured salad, Pernil, chicken stew and rice, black beans and rice, and fried sweet plantains.

"My Seniors were very grateful to Assemblyman Curran for a wonderful afternoon; they really loved it," said Margarita Grassing, a representative of Hispanic Brotherhood of Rockville Centre.

"The Hispanic Brotherhood offers a multitude of services to the community. One of these services is providing seniors with meals and offering them any assistance they may need from time to time. It was my pleasure to sponsor this luncheon and honor the mothers at the Hispanic Brotherhood," said Curran.
