Kavanagh Co-Sponsors Baruch Houses Family Day

August 8, 2009

On Saturday, August 8, 2009, the Baruch Houses Tenants Association held its 2009 Family Day celebration for the 5,400 residents of the 27-acre Baruch Houses development. Although he was out of town for a memorial service for an old friend and was unable to attend the event in person, Assemblymember Brian Kavanagh was proud to co-sponsor Family Day along with the New York City Housing Authority, State Senator Daniel Squadron, and Congressmember Nydia Velazquez. Additional expected guests included Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, Reverend Thomas Faiola of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, and Reverend Leo Lawrence and the choir of DeWitt Reformed Church. Kavanagh congratulates Tenant Association President Roberto Napoleon and Vice President Luther Stubblefield for organizing a great celebration and for all the work they do all year on behalf of their neighbors in Baruch Houses.
