Kolb Makes List of “True (Legislative) Reformers”
February 9, 2007
Assemblyman Brian Kolb (R,C,I –Canandaigua) is among the honor roll of the few “true reformers” in the legislature, mentioned in the Albany Times-Union newspaper. Mr. Kolb was one of “56 legislators who refused to support Thomas DiNapoli for comptroller constitute an honor roll,” stated the editorial, published February 9.
“In the spirit of reform, legislative leaders and the governor agreed on an Independent Review Panel,” said Kolb. “This panel interviewed and recommended three choices for comptroller; however, the whole process was nixed because Assembly Speaker Silver was dismayed when a legislator was not among the panel’s recommended candidates.”
During the joint session when Assemblyman Tom DiNapoli was selected to be comptroller, Kolb stated “there’s a process (to select the next comptroller) that we agreed to follow, and my vote is cast for Ms. Stark in the spirit of that reform.”
