Last week, I began my annual Toys for Tots partnership with the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Since first being elected to the Assembly in 2000, I have worked every year with the Marines to bring this program to our community. This season marks the seventh anniversary of that partnership. I am proud to help bring the program to the 129th Assembly District and encourage you to join us in contributing by donating a new, unwrapped toy at one of the several locations listed below. Every holiday season the program provides a message of joy and giving to millions of children across the country and here in New York and I ask you to become part of that.
Formed after World War II, the Toys for Tots program has grown into one of the leading Christmastime charity efforts in the United States. For more than half a century, this program has provided hope for thousands of children by actively contributing to the development of our nation’s youth by motivating them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders to help invest in creating a better tomorrow.
This year, there are six locations where you can drop off your donation, which will be given to a boy or girl in our community. From now through Friday, December 14, residents of the Finger Lakes region can convey a message of hope this season by donating a gift to Toys for Tots at my district office at 607 W. Washington St, Suite 2, Geneva or one of the five other drop-off locations, including:
Lyons National Bank
399 Exchange Street, Geneva
Arby's Roast Beef Restaurant
280 Hamilton Street, Geneva
Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce
113 S. Main Street, Canandaigua
Canandaigua VA Hospital
400 Fort Hill Ave., Canandaigua
Seneca County Chamber of Commerce
2020 Seneca Falls-Waterloo Rd, Seneca Falls
Please help me assist the Marine Corps Reserve in providing these children with Christmas joy by donating your new, unwrapped toys to this very worthy charitable organization. For more information or to schedule a site collection before Dec. 14, please contact my district office at (315) 781-2030.
