Assemblyman Brian Kolb Comments on $1 Million Grant
October 16, 2007
I want to acknowledge our appreciation to Governor Spitzer for designating a $1 million state grant to invest in the Cornell Agriculture and Food Technology Park in Geneva. I applaud his show of support for the research and development that goes into helping grow New York State’s agricultural industry. The food technology park provides important services, as well as dozens of jobs in our region and across this state, making it a vital part of our economy.
It is critical for Governor Spitzer to complete the transfer of the New York State Food Lab to this area because of the synergy with the upstate agricultural community, the experiment station, Food Technology Park and Cornell University. Anything less is a disservice to our region and the agricultural economy.
