Holiday Time Is A Time For Toys for Tots

The holiday season is upon us once again, and I would like to take this opportunity to share with you information about a great way Finger Lakes residents can make a difference in the lives of needy children in our community. In collaboration with the United States Marine Corps Reserve, I am pleased to help bring Toys for Tots to our region.

The Marine Corps Reserve’s annual Toys for Tots program has the mission of collecting new, unwrapped toys to distribute as Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children in our local communities. Every holiday season this program provides joy and hope to millions of children across the country. Area residents have until Wednesday, December 17, to donate a new, unwrapped toy. Their donations can be dropped off at my district office located at 607 West Washington Street, Suite 2 in Geneva or the other drop-off locations, which include Canandaigua Veterans Affairs Hospital, 400 Fort Hill Avenue, Building 7 in Canandaigua; Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce, 113 South Main Street in Canandaigua; Seneca County Chamber of Commerce, 2020 Seneca Falls Waterloo Road in Seneca Falls; and Arby’s Restaurant, 280 Hamilton Street in Geneva.

Formed after World War II, Toys for Tots has grown into one of the leading Christmastime charity efforts in the United States. The program takes an active role in the development of our nation’s youth by motivating children to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders. It is a great way for local residents to invest in our children.

Please help me assist the Marine Corps Reserve by providing local children with a new, unwrapped toy. For more information or to schedule a site collection before December 17, please contact my district office at (315) 781-2030.
