Tax Cap Must Be Part Of 2009-10 State Budget
Statement by Assemblyman Brian M. Kolb (R,C,I-Canandaigua)
December 2, 2008
“Yesterday, the State Commission on Property Tax Relief issued its final report to the Governor and it contains a strong message that New York State must rein in excessive spending while adopting a real property tax cap. I have pushed for comprehensive property tax reform including a tax cap but, unfortunately, no legislative action has yet been taken by the Assembly Majority. The people of upstate New York cannot afford to wait any longer, and so I call upon Governor Paterson to address this issue by advancing these recommendations as part of his 2009-10 state budget.”
