Kolb Encourages State Residents To Attend Budget Public Hearings

Assemblyman wants to make sure everyone’s voice is heard during this difficult time
January 14, 2009

Assemblyman Brian M. Kolb (R,C,I-Canandaigua) today encouraged state residents to participate in the creation of the 2009-2010 state budget. Residents can do so by attending the scheduled legislative public hearings on the Executive Budget proposal in Albany going on now through February 4.

“This year, more than ever, lawmakers will be forced to make difficult decisions directly impacting your wallets. In an effort to scale back excessive state spending, prevent the increasing of taxes and pay off an astronomical deficit, many government projects and services will not be funded at previous levels. By making your voice heard as it pertains to the Executive Budget, state Legislators can use your input as they craft the state’s fiscal plan,” said Kolb.

Kolb explains that the budget hearings are organized by topic and open to the public. The hearings will be held in Hearing Room C of the Legislative Office Building, across from the State Capitol, at the following dates and times:
