Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb To Serve Patrons At Steamboat Landing In Canandaigua To Help Raise Money For Local Charity “Embrace Your Sisters”
March 23, 2010
Canandaigua, NY – Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,I,C-Canandaigua) will be serving local patrons as a guest bartender this coming Sunday afternoon, March 28, from 4-6 p.m. at Steamboat Landing on Lakeshore Drive in Canandaigua as part of an effort to help raise money for the local charity “Embrace Your Sisters.” Kolb will be joined by his wife, Lauren, at the popular local destination and any tips he receives will be directly donated to Embrace Your Sisters, which provides emergency financial support for women with breast cancer. Additionally, Mr. and Mrs. Kolb will personally match the amount of tips earned. Since 2006, Embrace Your Sisters has provided help to numerous women across the Finger Lakes region with breast cancer by covering basic needs such as housing, utility and medical expenses. “Some of the many reasons why Canandaigua is such a great place to live are our special quality of life and strong commitment to helping one another, both of which have been part of our community’s character for as long as I can remember,” said Kolb, a long-time Canandaigua resident and member of the Canandaigua Rotary. “Sunday afternoon, I plan on being busy behind the bar, serving drinks to customers at Steamboat Landing. I will be donating all the tips I receive to Embrace Your Sisters, an important local charity that makes a positive difference for women with breast cancer. I encourage anyone who wants to contribute to a good cause, enjoy some of Steamboat Landing’s terrific food, scenery and Finger Lakes wines, to stop by this Sunday,” Kolb concluded. Located on Canandaigua Lake’s North End, and providing one of the area’s best scenic views, Steamboat Landing has long been part of Canandaigua’s regional and cultural charm.
