Statement from New York State Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,I,C-Canandaigua) on the Passing Of New York State Assemblyman Tom Kirwan
November 28, 2011
“Our hearts are broken tonight upon learning of the passing of our good friend and close colleague Assemblyman Tom Kirwan. Tom Kirwan truly was one of the good guys in state government and was beloved by everyone. Tom embodied everything a public servant should aspire to be: courageous, hard working, principled, tough, dedicated to his constituents and always willing to roll up his sleeves and make a positive difference for the community he served and loved so much. I had the honor of serving with Tom in the Assembly and saw firsthand the positive difference he made and witnessed his tireless commitment to good government. The Assembly, the Hudson Valley and all of New York State are safer, better, stronger places thanks to Tom Kirwan’s years of selfless service. I know my colleagues on both sides of the political aisle will keep Tom Kirwan and his entire family in their thoughts and prayers tonight as we mourn the passing of a good man who made a difference.”
