NYS Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb Invites Finger Lakes Citizens To Attend “EffectiveNY” Town Hall Meeting In Canandaigua On April 11
Canandaigua, N.Y. – Taxpayers deserve a more effective New York!
That will be the message delivered by Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,I,C-Canandaigua) and EffectiveNY co-founder and event co-host Bill Samuels when they join local citizens to discuss a new reform coalition called “EffectiveNY” next Wednesday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at the Canandaigua Inn on the Lake, located at 770 South Main Street.
“Passing an early State Budget was a welcome change -- but Albany still has miles to go before we will have achieved the types of lasting, meaningful change that taxpayers rightfully expect,” said Leader Kolb. “Quite frankly, for all the progress New York has recently made, there is still too much secrecy, too many closed doors and not enough transparency at our State Capitol. Taxpayers deserve to have their voices represented in a legislative process that is 100 percent open and accountable.”
Leader Kolb and Samuels will discuss a new reform coalition called EffectiveNY – located on-line at http://EffectiveNY.org and http://facebook.com/EffectiveNY – whose non-partisan goals include a better government, a stronger economy, a modernized State Constitution and a more responsive civic process. The Canandaigua event, free and open to the public, will be the second in a series of Town Hall meetings held across Upstate New York. EffectiveNY public forums also will be held in Syracuse on April 10 and in Buffalo on April 12.
The Town Hall meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at the Canandaigua Inn on the Lake, located at 770 South Main Street. For more details or to RSVP, visit http://EffectiveNY.org and http://facebook.com/EffectiveNY, or contact Leader Kolb at (518) 455-3751.
“Albany won’t fix itself. We, the people, must make positive change happen. Join me at the Canandaigua Inn on the Lake and let’s get the conversation started about creating a more effective New York. I hope to see you on April 11 at our Town Hall meeting,” Leader Kolb concluded.
