Statement From NYS Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb (R,C,I-Canandaigua) Commemorating Veterans Day
November 9, 2012
“Every year, on November 11, Americans pause to recognize ‘Veterans Day’ as an opportunity to give thanks to our veterans for the tremendous personal sacrifices they have made preserving, protecting and defending our great nation. We all owe a debt of gratitude and a profound debt of honor to those who have served. Whether in peacetime or during conflict, our servicemen and women made great sacrifices for our nation’s freedoms, and for democracy throughout the world. If you love freedom, thank a veteran.
As the proud father of two sons who have served in uniform, I know how much a sincere expression of thanks means to America’s true heroes. One simple gesture, a ‘thank you’ to a veteran and their families who sacrifice so much to protect our freedom, sends a powerful message of support. These men and women, some who have paid the ultimate price serving our country, deserve our respect, deep appreciation and eternal gratitude.
May God bless our veterans and the United States of America.”
