Lupinacci, Hispanic Youth Task Force Discuss Series Of Legislative Initiatives

Students will take part in SOMOS El Futuro program later this week

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-Huntington Station) recently joined members of Walt Whitman High School’s Hispanic Youth Task Force to discuss several pieces of legislation the students feel will have a serious impact on the Hispanic community.

“During their visit, the students provided me with tremendous insight on an array of issues facing members of the Hispanic community,” said Lupinacci. “As our state and nation continue to have very serious discussions about immigration, it is paramount that we have an open and respectful dialogue. Nearly all Americans come from some type of immigrant background, and it is in this vein that we continue to build a stronger and more inclusive society. I want to thank the students for being leaders in their community and demonstrating a commitment to public service and outreach from which we all can benefit.”

The students will be taking part in the SOMOS El Futuro conference in Albany on March 22-24.
