Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney (R,C,I-New Hartford) would like to invite all constituents of the 115th Assembly District, as well as local officials and members of the media, to join her at an Open House located at her new District Office at the Westmoreland School District offices in the Westmoreland High School. The festivities will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:30 pm on St. Patrick’s Day, Thursday, March 17, 2011.
“It is very important to me that my staff and I are easily accessible to all of our constituents,” said the assemblywoman. “The new location will ensure that everyone can reach us more easily.”
Assemblywoman Tenney continued, “We are very excited about this unique opportunity to be located on school district property. Not only does this demonstrate the spirit of collaboration between state and local school district officials in an effort to bring state resources directly back to the school districts, it also provides a tremendous opportunity for students to learn more about civic participation and government service. We all are looking forward to working side by side with both students and educators and having the opportunity to share our experiences.”
Westmoreland Superintendent of Schools, Rocco Migliori, said “We are excited about the opportunity to host Assemblywoman Tenney and her staff here in our district and we congratulate her for demonstrating a strong commitment to education and the vital role it has in our communities. This is truly a groundbreaking endeavor between a state official and a local school district that provides a financial benefit to the taxpayers and practical and invaluable experiences for our students.”
The superintendent continued, “We look forward to forging a strong working relationship with her office that will provide our students with a unique insight into state government and public service. Already, the students are excited about visiting the new offices and many have inquired about internship opportunities.”
