Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney (R,C,I- New Hartford) welcomed local library advocates to the Capitol on March 1, 2011 during the Annual Library Advocacy Day. Library organizations throughout the state came to Albany to discuss budget cuts and their effects on the community and children’s education.

“Libraries are a vital part of any thriving community and it was wonderful to meet with people who champion such local treasures,” said Assemblywoman Tenney. “I always look forward to meeting with local constituents and hearing their concerns. We do face a budget that needs to make cuts all across the state and we will do the absolute best we can as legislators to preserve as much of the richness of library services as viably possible.”

Groups that stopped by Assemblywoman Tenney’s office included the CNY Libraries Resources Council, Utica Public Library, Mid York Library System, Old Forge Library, Holland Patent High School Libraries, and other library advocacy groups.
