Tenney Welcomes Jimmer Fredette To Albany

Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney (R,C,I-New Hartford) was among the legislators who recently welcomed All-American basketball star James “Jimmer” Fredette, an upstate New York native, to the State Capitol. “Mr. Fredette is a role model to all students, particularly student-athletes, in our state, and I was proud to welcome him to the Assembly Chamber to further promote our world-class educational system,” said the assemblywoman, who recently honored the New York Mills boys’ basketball team on its 2011 Class D state championship. Jimmer Fredette was the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division I lead basketball scorer in 2011. He led the Brigham Young University men’s basketball team to the NCAA tournament and has earned various “player of the year” national awards, including the Wooden Award, the Naismith Award, the Adolph Rupp Trophy and the Oscar Robertson Trophy.
