Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney Encourages Residents To Observe Emergency Preparedness Month
September is National Preparedness Month for Emergency and Natural Disasters
September 12, 2013

Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney (R,C,I-New Hartford) today reminds residents that September is National Preparedness Month and encourages all residents to be prepared for the next emergency or natural disaster. This American Red Cross campaign provides plans, tools, and guides to be used in preparation for a multitude of natural disasters which may impact homes, schools, or the workplace.

”Our region has been devastated by storms the last couple of years. I am working with local and state authorities to help our municipalities repair damages caused by decades of storms and the inability to properly clean up streams and riverbeds. This campaign, sponsored through the Red Cross, helps residents prepare their families and homes for the crisis that could arise due to future storms. With winter quickly approaching, I hope everyone takes advantage of these helpful resources to have a plan and be ready for any occasion of bad weather this season,” said Tenney.

Those interested in the American Red Cross’ National Preparedness Month program are encouraged to check out http://www.redcross.org/prepare for more information.
