Stec’s Constitutional Amendment Receives Second Passage
Legislation authorizing land exchange in Essex County will now come up for vote
June 19, 2013

A constitutional amendment sponsored by Assemblyman Dan Stec (R,C,I-Queensbury) passed the Assembly today for the second time, making it eligible for public referendum in the fall. Assembly bill 7974, if approved by the public, will allow the state to engage in a land exchange in the Town of Lewis in Essex County with NYCO Minerals, Inc. to allow for mining of the commercially-valuable material wollastonite.
