Assemblyman Dan Burling (R,C-Warsaw) is pleased to invite local businesses and educational institutions to participate in this year’s United States Veterans’ Administration Western New York Healthcare System Hire a Hero event on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This event will take place at the VA Western New York Healthcare System, 3495 Bailey Avenue in Buffalo. Hire a Hero is an employment and education fair which will provide opportunities for our Veterans who have sacrificed so much for our nation.
“As a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran and member of the Assembly Veterans’ Affairs committee, I am proud to extend an invitation and encourage local businesses and educational institutions to take part in this job fair. Our veterans have received intense and complex training while protecting our country, and this is a great opportunity to recognize the considerable skills of these brave men and women,” said Burling.
Veterans will be able to meet with prospective employers, learn about educational opportunities through local colleges and participate in workshops to improve their skills. These workshops will include assistance in using USA Jobs and dressing for success. In addition, veteran-owned businesses will be provided with information on how to process bids for government work.
Those who would like to participate and reserve space may call 716-862-8754 by February 17.
