“Recent events in our area have demonstrated that there are inconsistencies in traffic laws in New York State. Those who have committed the crime of drinking and driving shouldn’t use that one crime to escape prosecution on a more severe charge.
“I am working with Senator Patrick Gallivan on legislation that will prevent drunk drivers from exploiting a technicality by closing a loophole in the law that will properly punishing those who break it.”
