I-STOP Legislation Sponsored By Assemblymember Gabryszak Passes Assembly
June 11, 2012
“The Assembly has taken a great first step in fighting prescription drug addiction by passing legislation I sponsored that would create a real-time database for physicians and pharmacists to check before dispensing certain prescription drugs. This database will prevent patients from doctor shopping and curb black-market dealing of highly addictive pain killers to ensure these drugs are being used safely.
“This database will go a long way toward identifying abusers and is an important step toward lessening prescription drug abuse in Western New York.”
