Assemblymember Didi Barrett Supports $20 Million Farmland Preservation Initiative

“We continue to see how agriculture is a catalyst to other economic development, so I was very pleased to hear the governor discuss the need to preserve farmland in the Hudson Valley by announcing a $20 million initiative in this year’s budget. Our family farms are among the best in the nation, providing diverse fresh local food while being a vital economic driver in Columbia and Dutchess counties.

“While the budget specifics still need to be fully presented to us, I look forward to the conversation ahead. And when we do finally see the entire budget proposal, mandate relief must also be included to fully help our families, school districts and local governments.”
