The Assemblywoman has acquired $1.5 million for the development of the western part of the Freeport Urban renewal area.
The properties and sites developed include the vacant Meadowbrook Bank Building on Sunrise Highway, a triangular block of cleared land directly east of the building, the street bed known as Plaza West, and a parking lot currently accommodating LIRR commuter parking. The building will be reconstructed for office and retail use, including the construction two hundred twenty-five (225) rental units (7 floors) over twenty-five thousand (25, 000) square feet of retail adjacent to the property.
These funds will assist in enhancing the downtown area of Freeport and help to improve the safety of its community.
The Assemblywoman continues to work for all her constituents for the betterment of their place of residence.
