Statement from Braunstein on Ethics Reform Agreement
June 4, 2011
“The recent announcement of an agreement to overhaul the ethics rules for the New York State legislature is a great first step to improving the public's faith in our government,” said Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein (D-Bayside). “Last summer I ran on a platform of bringing ethics reforms to Albany and I look forward to voting to make this agreement the law in New York State. I congratulate Governor Andrew Cuomo for his leadership in achieving this vitally important agreement on ethics reform. There are many good people who serve in the State Legislature and I am hopeful that these new reforms will root out those few bad apples that choose to betray the public trust and allow the rest of us to perform our duties without distraction.”
