Assemblyman Edward Hennessey Fights to Increase AIM Funding for Local Municipalities
March 8, 2013

“This would be the first increase to AIM (Aid and Incentives to Municipalities) funding in five years, and would provide real relief to help ease the crushing burden that our towns and villages have been facing while continuing to provide essential services our families count on. I also fought to ensure that the village of Mastic Beach receives AIM funding in the Assembly budget proposal for the first time since being incorporated – it simply wasn’t fair that they didn’t receive any state assistance like every other village in NY.”

“I will now continue my efforts and work with Governor Cuomo and my colleagues in the State Senate to ensure this funding is included in the final state budget.”

Aid and Incentives to Municipalities funding includes:

  • Town of Brookhaven:

    • Increase: $202,474
    • Total in Budget: $2,011,406
  • Village of Bellport:

    • Increase: $1,828
    • Total in Budget: $18,164
  • Village of Mastic Beach (receiving AIM funding for the first time ever):

    • Increase: $94,000
    • Total in Budget: $94,000
