Ra Honors 2011 LI Baseball Champions Carey Seahawks

Ed Ra (21st Assembly District) yesterday honored the H. Carey High School’s varsity baseball team, the Carey Seahawks, as the 2011 Long Island baseball champions. Ra was joined by Senator Jack Martins, Councilman Ed Ambrosino, County Legislator John Ciotti, and Town Clerk Mark Bonilla. The Carey Seahawks were champions of their first county title and their first county championship.

“Our own H. Frank Carey High School’s Varsity Baseball team put together one of the best seasons on record this past year, winning the Nassau County and Long Island Class AA championships for the first time ever in school history,” said Ra. “Nearly every great team has a story behind it. This team has proved that extraordinary outcomes are possible with dedication, hard work, and strong leadership by both players and coaches. The support from the community during their run shows just how special our community is. This is a tremendous accomplishment, and they have truly exemplified what it means to be champions both on and off the field.”
