Welcome Letter

Dear Neighbor,

Thank you for taking the time to visit the New York State Assembly website for the 97th District where you can access information, including legislation I’m sponsoring in Albany and meetings at home in the 97th District.

When I’m not in Albany, much of my time is spent working with community organizations, as well as community leaders and constituents. The conversations we have are the impetus for much of the legislation I’ve worked on over the last three legislative sessions, which you can search under the Sponsored Legislation section of the website

You can also find out about upcoming events and other news from my office.

If you need information or assistance from my office, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 845-624-4601 or jaffeee@assembly.state.ny.us.

Today at the Joint Budget Hearing on Mental Hygiene there were a series of questions that were asked to Ann Marie T. Sullivan, Commissioner of the New York State Office of Mental Health regarding mental health services for youth. "I represent Rockland County… Real concern about how we are moving forward in responding to the availability of mental health services for our children. There are concerns about staffing, concerns about psychiatric support, concerns about even the transportation for these youth now being transferred to local sites. So what is in place and what is being provided as we move forward to assure that we have… everything that really is needed that can be provided to these, our children and our youth," asked Assemblymember Jaffee at today's Joint Budget Hearing on Mental Hygiene.
