Unemployed to Get Information About NYS Programs
June 16, 2009
Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee (D-Suffern) announced that she will be hosting an information session for unemployed or under-employed residents of the 95th Assembly District. The program will feature representatives from the New York State Departments of Labor and Health, the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, the Rockland County Guidance Center, INFOrmation ROCKland, and Tomorrow’s Workplace. These experts will discuss programs and services that are available to individuals who qualify, including unemployment benefits, health insurance, and re-employment training and programs.
“To get through these difficult times, it’s important for government and elected officials make information as accessible as possible to the people who need it most.” said Assemblywoman Jaffee about the event. “Being unemployed is hard enough without having to wade through bureaucracy to find help. This event is about putting a number of resources in one place at one time to ease the transition and provide essential assistance.”
The event will be held on Thursday, June 25th from 6 pm until 8:30 pm at Finkelstein Memorial Library, 24 Chestnut Street, Spring Valley. For more information, contact Assemblywoman Jaffee’s office at 845-624-4601.
