At this time, with an economy that is struggling to make its way out of recession, we must focus on job creation and economic revitalization. There is a reason that organizations such as the National Federation of Independent Business, Business Council and Farm Bureau oppose this bill: across our state, family farms and businesses continue to struggle, and it is simply not the right time to increase the minimum wage rate.
