Rabbi Chaim Wakslak, Rav of the Young Israel of Long Beach Delivers Opening Prayer to the New York State Assembly in Albany
March 8, 2013

At the invitation of Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg, Rabbi Chaim Wakslak performed an inspirational Opening Prayer at the Legislative Session of the New York State Assembly on Wednesday, March 6th.

Rabbi Wakslak and his Rebbetzin, Rivka were also honored by the Assembly that day with a Resolution recognizing their many Mitzvahs in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

“Rabbi Wakslak and his Rebbetzin were very much involved in helping the people of our communities during a very difficult time. They ensured the health and well being of some very vulnerable people, worked to provide Glatt Kosher meals to emergency responders who required them and never ceased in their efforts to give comfort and provide necessities to so many,” said Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg. “Rabbi Wakslak’s strong spiritual guidance and leadership in the community are truly an inspiration.”

In his Invocation, Rabbi Wakslak stated, “I express my gratitude to Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg for inviting me to pray with you today, and to humbly reflect to you the importance of your roles in being a part of the freedom and tolerance of democracy, which we cherish and which we should never take for granted.”
