Duprey Encouraged by Governor’s Speech
Notes Actions Speak Louder Than Words
January 3, 2007
Janet L. Duprey was highly encouraged by Governor Spitzer’s 2007 State of the State address in Albany earlier today. The inclusion in his message of the need for real property tax reform, reviving the upstate economy, and his call for Wicks Law and workers’ compensation reform were especially welcome news to the Assemblywoman. “My legislative agenda includes these important reforms. Our area’s voters want these changes, and because of that I’m encouraged by the Governor’s speech,” said Assemblywoman Janet L. Duprey (R,I,C-Peru). “But, actions speak much louder than words. The important issues in the North Country are property tax reductions, government reform, and job creation. I’m hopeful the Governor is making a true commitment to his words. I will be working every day in Albany to ensure the North Country’s voice is heard,” Duprey said. Representing the 114th Assembly District, Janet L. Duprey is the former Clinton County Treasurer. Her Assembly District includes nineteen towns in Franklin County, fourteen towns and the City of Plattsburgh in Clinton County; as well as the town of St. Armand in Essex County.
