Janet L. Duprey was named to the following committees in the state Assembly: Social Services, Consumer Affairs, House Operations, Aging, and Mental Health.
Assembly Minority Leader James N. Tedisco announced the appointments for 2007 in Albany. “The starting point for all legislation is the Committee process. The decisions and votes made in Committee directly impact the entire legislative process. As a long-term advocate for senior citizen needs, I am pleased to be a member of the Aging Committee. Affordable health care in the right setting at the right time, and home care services are priorities in the North Country.”
The opportunity to serve on the Mental Health Committee addresses Duprey’s interest in assisting individuals and families who struggle with these problems. In particular, Assemblywoman Duprey (R,I,C-Peru) has been a voice for special needs children and their families. She looks forward to speaking on their behalf in the Assembly.
Duprey explained that with her new assignments the needs of the North Country’s residents will no longer be an afterthought. On the web, please see the website www.assembly.state.ny.us.
