Janet L. Duprey Statement On Earth Day

Assemblywoman Cites Hybrid Car Use
April 24, 2007
Assemblywoman Janet L. Duprey (R,I,C-Peru) noted that as the festivities celebrating Earth Day 2007 come to a close, the premise of sound conservation measures should not be readily forgotten.

“From small energy savings tips at home, to larger sponsored events and community clean-up days, everybody, in some way, can help improve environmental conservation efforts,” Duprey said.

On Sunday, April 22, Assemblywoman Duprey spoke at the 1st Annual Earth Day Event held at Champlain Center in Plattsburgh. The successful event was sponsored by the League of Women Voters, Girl Scouts, and SUNY Plattsburgh students.

Throughout the North Country various events and spring clean-up days are planned through the month of May. Notably, Assemblywoman Duprey proudly owns and regularly drives a hybrid car. She also supports the NY ENERGY STAR program for home appliances and home building needs.
