
Christina suffers from Morquio Syndrome Type A, a metabolic disorder, but has continued to be active within her community. She is a member of the Tupper Lake Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary, Northern New York Volunteer Firefighters Ladies’ Auxiliary and Women of the Moose. She is also a volunteer for the Family Champions and the Tupper Lake Football Boosters and is on the Youth Advisory Committee for the State of New York. She currently teaches 2nd grade religious education.
“I am honored to present Christina with the Excelsior Award for Excellence because she has been truly selfless with her continued work within her community and her activism for young children and young adults with special health care needs,” stated Assemblywoman Duprey.
The 6th annual award ceremony took place today at the State Capitol with many Assembly members taking part to recognize amazing individuals within their communities.
