Assemblywoman
Joan L. Millman
Assembly District 52
Chair, Aging Committee
Dear Neighbor,

Welcome to my web site. Here, you will find news about the community, legislative updates from Albany and other information pertaining to state government.

Currently, I am in my 15th year representing the 52nd Assembly District, which is comprised of the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Columbia Waterfront, DUMBO, Fulton Ferry Landing, Gowanus, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, and Vinegar Hill. As a lifelong Brooklyn resident, I understand the pressing issues facing our neighborhoods. I have sponsored legislation that has advanced education, protected consumers, and defended senior rights.

In addition to my legislative duties, I serve as Chairperson of the Assembly’s Standing Committee on Aging. The Committee is responsible for analyzing all issues ranging from transportation assistance, long-term care, healthcare, prescription drug coverage and enhancing day-to-day life for seniors by helping them to continue to live in our communities - aging in place. Previously, I served as Chairperson of the Committee on Election Law, where I worked to increase access to voting, limit the influence of special interests in elections, and level the playing field between political candidates. I also serve as a member of the Assembly Committees on Corporations and Authorities, Education, Labor, and Transportation.

I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions, thoughts or concerns. I can be reached via e-mail at millmaj@assembly.state.ny.us. My district office, located at 341 Smith Street in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. You can also reach my district office by phone at 718-246-4889 or by fax at 718-246-4895. In addition, you can reach my Albany office by phone at 518-455-5426 or by fax at 518-455-4787.

Sincerely,
