Brooklyn – On Friday, June 28, 2013, Assemblywoman Joan L. Millman and State Senators Velmenatte Montgomery and Daniel Squadron are hosting their annual Senior Fair at St. Francis College in Brooklyn – an event that brings together more than 50 service organizations and federal, state and local government agencies that serve senior citizens with local seniors.
Representatives will be on hand from the New York State Department for the Aging, AARP New York, the FDNY, the YWCA, the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, NYC Transit Mobile Sales, the New York State Long Term Care, Medicare Rights Center, the New York State Comptroller’s Office, the Statewide Senior Action Council and many others to field questions and assist attendees.
Admission for the event is free and there will also be free refreshments and giveaways. Local senior citizens and family members, friends and caregivers all are invited to attend.
Millman started the fair in 1997, where it was held at P.S. 58 in Carroll Gardens.
