Ceretto Talks Savings With Village Of Lewiston Officials
February 25, 2011

Assemblyman John Ceretto (R,I-Lewiston) met with Village of Lewiston officials to discuss legislation that recently passed the state Senate and Assembly. The bill (A.3093B), which Assemblyman Ceretto co-sponsored, exempts villages in Western New York from costly new voting machine requirements by allowing villages throughout the state to use lever voting machines for their elections, an Election Law exemption only previously granted to school districts.
“Village governments across Western New York are hurting and need financial relief,” said Ceretto. “My bill would help villages save money on training and maintenance by allowing them to use the cost-effective and highly reliable lever-action voting machines during village elections, while ensuring affordable and fair village elections.”
