Assemblyman John Ceretto, (R,I-Lewiston) today released the following statement in response to Niagara County Legislator Renae Kimble’s (D-2nd District) announcement that she will not seek re-election and retire at the end of her current term:
“I’ve known Renae Kimble for a long time, and I want to wish her well in this next phase of her life. She’s proven herself a dedicated public servant and a committed leader to her hometown of Niagara Falls and communities throughout Western New York. Her energy and enthusiasm will be missed.
“I also will miss her openness to bipartisan cooperation. During my years in the Niagara County Legislature, Renae regularly reached across the aisle to work with me, especially on issues related to the New York Power Authority (NYPA).
“Renae understood that local representation on the NYPA board would provide low-cost power and job opportunities to Western New York. On her behalf, and in order to create a more vibrant community, I will continue to champion the NYPA issue in Albany.
“Again, best wishes to Renae Kimble and her family. I speak for many when I say that I appreciate your dedication and service to our community.”
