Assemblyman John Ceretto (R,I – Lewiston) is urging residents of Niagara County to take advantage of extended hours at local parks and swimming facilities. Governor Cuomo today announced that the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will begin extended hours today through Saturday evening.
“In Niagara County, we have great public parks that residents should be taking advantage of to stay cool during this record-breaking heat wave,” said Ceretto. “These scorching and potentially dangerous temperatures should not be taken lightly. Stay inside or beat the heat with these extended hours.”
In the Niagara region, facilities included in the extended hours are Beaver Island, Evangola, Fort Niagara, and Wilson-Tuscarora State Parks, which will remain open until 8:00 pm today and Saturday.
The Assemblyman also noted that additional parks may be offering extended hours and to check the Parks Department website, www.nysparks.com. If there are any questions or concerns, residents can call the Assemblyman’s office at 716-282-6062.
