Ceretto ‘Electrified’ By New Power NY Law
August 4, 2011
Assemblyman John Ceretto (R,I-Lewiston) today released the following statement regarding the signing of the utilities-reform measure Power NY into law by Governor Andrew Cuomo. Ceretto, who helped pass the Assembly version of the legislation, noted that the bill is designed to increase New York’s power production and lower consumer energy costs.
“Power NY is a win-win for families and businesses across New York State. I supported this legislation to increase New York’s current energy production, which would result in lower-cost power for families and small-business job creators and will allow for better planning to meet our state’s growing energy needs.
“In addition to putting New York on the path to a more sustainable future, Power NY also creates a low-interest loan program through NYSERDA which will help families make their homes more energy efficient to help reduce costs and create a cleaner environment for future generations of New Yorkers.”
