Ceretto: 10 Years Of Remembrance
A statement from Assemblyman John Ceretto (R,I – Lewiston)
September 9, 2011

On September 11, 2001, the United States faced one of the most evil attacks in history. Here we are, 10 years later, and I can remember exactly where I was and how I felt when our nation was attacked. The memories of black smoke and fear that clouded our country will never be erased from my mind, but the acts of resilience and camaraderie that our fellow Americans demonstrated will dominate my recollections of that infamous day.

It is extremely important to me that this day is never forgotten. Three thousand lives were lost that day; what they didn’t know was that they were on the front lines of war we continue to fight to this day, a war that is being waged on our freedom as Americans.

We must show our thanks and appreciation to the servicemen and women who have lost their lives and the ones currently on the battleground protecting our freedoms in the Middle East.
