Assemblyman John Ceretto (R,I-Lewiston) today met with world-renowned daredevil Nik Wallenda and state officials to discuss Wallenda’s plan to cross the Niagara Falls Gorge using a tightrope.
Wallenda noted to Ceretto that his stunt will be part of a larger, week-long series of activities around the Niagara Falls region, including Wallenda’s plan to meet with local schoolchildren to discuss the importance of physical fitness and hard work.
“Today’s meeting was very informative, and I am excited about the numerous activities that are being proposed by the Wallenda Team. This event will bring global attention to Niagara Falls and will provide a needed boost to our region’s tourism industry,” said Ceretto. “This is exactly the type of game-changing event we needed to help rebuild the American side of Niagara Falls and make it an indispensible tourism destination.”
Assemblyman Ceretto was a leading advocate for the passage of the Wallenda bill that Governor Cuomo signed into law last month.
