Ceretto Delivers ‘Empower Niagara’ Petitions To Governor’s Office
January 10, 2012

Assemblyman Ceretto delivers his “Empower Niagara” petitions to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office at the state Capitol.
Assemblyman John Ceretto (R,I-Lewiston) today delivered his and Senator Maziarz’s (R,I,C-Newfane) “Empower Niagara” petitions to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office at the state Capitol. The petitions contained over 1,000 signatures in support of the appointment of a Niagara County resident to the New York Power Authority’s (NYPA) Board of Trustees. The petitions are part of Assemblyman Ceretto’s and Senator Maziarz’s continued efforts to ensure that NYPA focuses more on the electricity and power needs of Niagara County.
“In the coming weeks, I look forward to working closely with Senator Maziarz, NYPA President and CEO Gil Quinones and the Governor’s office to have a Niagara County resident appointed to the Board of Trustees to ensure that our region’s energy needs are made a priority at the power authority,” said Ceretto. “Instead of limiting local economic development, NYPA, under the right leadership and with Niagara County representation, can become an important ally in our efforts to create jobs and make our region a more attractive place to do business.”
