Ceretto Thanks Nik Wallenda On Final Day Of Local Training For Niagara Falls Event
May 22, 2012

Assemblyman John Ceretto (R, I,-Lewiston) today praised Nik Wallenda on his final day of local training before his walk across the Niagara Falls gorge. Ceretto sponsored the legislation to allow Nik Wallenda to traverse the Niagara Falls gorge last year.

“This event is a once-in-a-lifetime moment for our region and a tremendous opportunity to showcase Niagara Falls to the world,” said Ceretto. “This is exactly what we need to bring attention to the American side of Niagara Falls and help strengthen our region’s tourism industry. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with local stakeholders to make this event a tremendous success for the City of Niagara Falls.”

Ceretto noted that while Nik was practicing in Niagara Falls, he took the time to visit schools and other venues to stress the benefits of nutrition and exercise, while talking to kids about the importance of following their dreams.

“Nik has been extremely generous with his time and has been a great partner in promoting our city,” said Ceretto. “I am grateful and thankful that Nik chose the New York side of Niagara Falls to hold public practice sessions; as his presence at the Seneca Niagara Casino has drawn thousands of people to the sidewalks and shops of downtown Niagara Falls these past few weeks.”

The walk will be aired live on ABC as part of a live three-hour special on June 15th from 8-11 p.m., which will help make this one of the most important events in recent memory for Niagara Falls.
