Governor Cuomo Signs Veterans Bill Into Law
Ceretto co-sponsored legislation will help returning veterans find employment
July 25, 2012
Assemblyman John D. Ceretto (R,I-Lewiston) today applauded Gov. Andrew Cuomo for signing his legislation to help returning servicemen and women find employment. The new law requires the establishment of an employment portal on the Division of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) website that will include links to federal and state government programs that assist veterans in finding jobs. According to Ceretto, this legislation is crucial to ensuring our returning military heroes are able to utilize their highly specialized training and experience in their transition to the private workforce.
“Our veterans are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms and deserve the opportunity to gain meaningful employment when they return home,” said Assemblyman Ceretto. “I’m truly pleased Governor Cuomo signed this bill. I’m very proud to have co-sponsored a bill creating an employment portal on the DVA website to assist these heroes in their job search, and look forward to working with him to further enhance the quality of life for all New York State residents.”
