Assemblyman John Ceretto (R,C,I-Lewiston) today applauded several pro-job initiatives in Governor Andrew Cuomo’s State of the State address and urged the state’s chief executive to focus on rebuilding Western New York’s economy in 2013 and beyond.
“Over the past two years, the Legislature and Governor have worked closely and in a bipartisan manner to pass several key initiatives to help strengthen Western New York’s economy and create good-paying jobs,” said Ceretto. “Yet, now more than ever, with our economy continuing to underperform, we need to focus like a laser on improving the Empire State’s woeful business climate and create lasting employment opportunities for families throughout our region.
“I applaud the Governor for focusing on Western New York’s economy, and I look forward to working with him and my legislative colleagues to promote the region’s tourism industry while better utilizing the research and development conducted at our colleges and universities in order to leverage our state’s highly-trained workforce. These policies, combined with a commitment to hold the line on taxes and reduce energy costs, will help create a more robust economy in Western New York.”
