Assemblyman John D. Ceretto (R,I,C-Lewiston), the Ranking Minority Member of the Assembly Tourism Committee, today remarked that he is pleased with several of the proposals in the Governor’s Budget designed to promote tourism throughout Western New York.
“Tourism is an essential part of Western New York’s economy, employing thousands of workers and bringing in billions of dollars in state and local revenue,” said Ceretto. “Several measures in the Executive Budget, like TASTE NY and funding for the Wine and Grape Foundation, will increase tourism and promote our region’s steadily growing wine industry.”
Assemblyman Ceretto noted that the new TASTE NY initiative will help promote New York State craft vendors by allowing specialty shops to sell New York State-made products tax-free.
“TASTE NY will be beneficial to our region of the state because of our close proximity to Canada and our thriving local wine industry,” said Ceretto. “TASTE NY is another step forward in revitalizing our tourism industry and making the Niagara Falls region a premier tourist destination.”
