Assemblyman Joe Giglio (R-Gowanda) has announced that the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) is accepting capital assistance grant applications from qualified parties interested in providing transportation services to the elderly and disabled.
“If your not-for-profit organization is looking to purchase a new vehicle or start a new program to assist the elderly or disabled then I recommend applying to this worthwhile state program,” said Giglio.
Requirements for the applicants include:
- Capital-only assistance for the purchase of vehicles to transport the elderly and disabled.
- Must be a not-for-profit organization.
- Public organizations may be eligible if there is no not-for-profit organization readily providing the services.
Interested parties should contact Barry Kessler, DOT Passenger Transportation Division at 518-457-8335 or request an application on-line at www.dot.state.ny.us/pubtrans/5310.html. The application submission deadline is April 7, 2006.
